First ODI of the series was won by New Zealand team, Trent Boult was the hero in that game. Second ODI game between New Zealand and Bangladesh played at Christchurch. Bangladesh batted first in this game and they scored 271 runs after brilliant batting by skipper Tamim Iqbal & Mohmmad Mithun. Mithun smashed an thrilling inning of 73 runs.

Mitchell Santner was the pick of the bowlers with twin wickets.
However, the likes of Trent Boult, Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson too bowled tightly and got one wicket each to their name. Jimmy Neesham had a poor game as he gave away 73 in his 9 overs. However, their good work in the first half with the ball meant that the Kiwis, led by their skipper’s superb century sealed the deal.

Chasing the total, the Kiwis didn’t start well as Henry Nicholls fell early and Martin Guptill too didn’t get going. Will Young departed in the 11th over of the game with the score reading just 53 for 3.

However, after that, Devon Conway along with skipper Tom Latham added 100-plus to keep the Kiwis in the chase. Devon Conway raked up his maiden ODI half ton before getting run out while trying to steal a single.

Latham however, continued and kept going. Bangladesh were really poor in the field as they put down a few chances. Tom Latham and Jimmy Neesham used the chances given and took the team close with their 76-run stand. Jimmy Neesham holed out in search of quick runs but Latham continued and converted the half ton into a scintillating century to take the team home. Mitchell played his part by scoring 12 off 6.

Excellent run chase from the Kiwis and they have sealed the 3-match ODI series with a game to go. Just terrific from New Zealand and the skipper leading from the front, in front of his home crowd is extra special. Bangladesh had their chances with the ball but they just didn’t pick it up. A number of dropped chances and sloppy fielding didn’t help their cause one bit and they have been hammered again!
