Report Card ; South Africa v Pakistan, 3rd ODI 2021


South Africa playing against Pakistan in ODI series decider at Centurion. Pakistan have win the first ODI, while South Africa had outplayed Pakistan in second ODI expects Fakhar Zaman’s brilliance.

Captain’s opinion :

Due to huge impact on Indian premier league which is starting from 9th April, South Africa made lot of changes in their playing XI. Likes of De Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje have arrived in India to play IPL 14 season. Lutho Sipamla, Beuran Hendricks as well as Kashav Maharaj and Daryn Dupavillon made their places in South African XI.

From Pakistan’s camp, Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed back in the XI of Pakistan. Hasan Ali made his comeback. Shahbad Khan had been ruled out from South Africa as well as zimbabwe tour of Pakistan.

Splendid knocks from Pakistan’s opener helped to reach Pakistan above 100 in just 20 overs. After that Fakhar Zaman continued his form and scored another absolute hundred. While Pakistani skipper Babar Azam scored his second fifty+ score in this series. He smashed unbeaten 94 runs in just 80 balls.

Pakistan ended their inning on 320 runs after seventh wickets loss. From South Africa’s perspective Keshav Maharaj and Aiden Markram are only positive for them. They picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

South Africa need 321 runs to win
South Africa started the inning with very good opening partnership. South Africa openers scored 54 runs in 8.3 overs before Shaheen Shah Afridi strikes. No longer partnership for South African batsmans as they lost they lost their fourth wicket on just 128 runs. Now it was never easy to chase the target like 321 against the good bowling attack.

While Andile Phehlukwayo and Kyle Verreyenne scored 62 and 52 runs respectively and put South Africa in hunt of ghate mammoth chase. While the Haris Rauf took the breakthrough wicket for Pakistan, After the 104 runs partnership between Phehlukwayo and Verreyenne.

Pakistan had won the match as well as series.
