Babar Azam scored 228 runs that series including a brilliant hundred jn Centurion. This performance helped him to pass Virat Kohli who is no.1 ranking Holder since October-2017. Babar Azam’s 94 runs knock in last ODI helped him to gain 8 more point. With that points Virat Kohli overtook Kohli.

“This is another milestone in my career, which will now require even more hard work from me and absolute consistency with the bat for me to hold on to the ODI ranking for an extended period of time”, Babar Azam expressed his feelings after this milestone.

“I feel privileged and honoured to have joined the company of stalwarts like Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad and Mohammad Yousuf, who will always be athe shining stars of Pakistan cricket. I have also previously topped the T20I rankings, but the ultimate ambition and goal is to lead the Test rankings, which are the real testament and reward to a batsman’s calibre, reputation and skills” Babar Azam added.
