Another game of Indian Premier League and it’s a clash between two struggling sides. both have won only one game so far in this season and are in the bottom half of the points table.it is KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS taking on Rajasthan Royals in the Wankhede Stadium Mumbai.
let’s talk about KKR first, they started the tournament grandly but since then gone on the downward spiral, they have chased in all the games after the first game and have lost all of them. the form of the top order is a big issue, even Rana is among the runs in the last two games. Narine’s inclusion in the middle order also did not help. Maybe they could chop and change few things, probably let Narine open let Shubman gill bat in the middle as he struggling with the form, the form of captain Morgan is also a big issue and they would want him to come good & lead from the front. the positives are that Russell has found his scintillating form with the bat in the last game & they would hope he can continue that.
now coming to their opponents they are not doing well also and have struggled in the bot the departments, their opening pair has been off-colour and they haven’t got off to a good start in even in one game. Buttler though will continue to hold his place but Manan Vohra will face an axe. they too had few positives in the last game with Dube striking with the bat, they bat deep but that can only utilize the start is good. the bowling has not been that bad from the RR bowlers but they were taken to cleaners in the last game, the form of Morris with the ball is something to think about. despite all these issues, it’s unexpected that RR will make wholesale changes. Both sides will be hungry for the win and we can surely expect a close encounter.
When: Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 PM IST
Where: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
What to expect: A high-scoring wicket as seen in the previous games. Dew comes into play in Mumbai more often than not, but it’s about how teams play to the
conditions. While the toss is vital, CSK have shown that defending high totals can be possible. It’s about getting
those runs on the board first. Both teams will need their batsmen to fire on a wicket tough for bowlers.
Head to head: KKR 12- 10 RR Ever since RR’s return to IPL in 2018, KKR has dominated the fixtures against them, winning six of the seven matches between the two teams. Overall, the sides
have played 22 games against each other with KKR, the superior in recent times.
