A 23rd year old team India’s Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant has been tested positive for covid-19 recently. After this news he sent to be in isolation. He will not be a part of team India’s members who are travelling to Durham for warm up match.

Team India is going to play a three days warm up match against County selected XI in Durham from 20th July. But, now including Rishabh Pant three staff members/coach will not travel along with team.

A one of senior coach is returned a positive while three members forced by BCCI to quarntine in London for 10 more days. Team India’s is preparing for five match test series against England ; this will be a huge setback for them before a nail biting clash.

First test between India and England will kick start from 4th of August. According to BCCI’s vice president Rajiv Shukla, Rishabh Pant has been already sent to isolation. He was not in contact with other players.

“Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected, As of now no other player has tested positive. Also you must be aware our secretary Jay Shah has written a letter to all players to maintain protocols” BCCI’s vice President Rajiv Shukla told to PTI

One of staff member, senior member of the coaching staff, a senior player and a reserve player have been tested positive for covid-19. CricActivity understands those two players will available for the first test against England. Team India still has 17-18 days for the preparation of test series.
