Virat Kohli will step down as captain of RCB after this year

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has decided to leave a captaincy of RCB after this year. He is captaining RCB since 2013 but he is unable to win a title for RCB. Recently, he has stepped down from the T20I captaincy also. Team India to looks for a new captain for them after this T20 world cup. Formerly, Virat Kohli is struggling with his batting form. He getting a good start but not converting it into the big one. Maybe this is the main reason behind these two big decisions.

Virat Kohli revealed that he wants to focus on his batting. Maybe this is a good decision for the team India but not for the RCB team. In team India, there is plenty of options for captaincy. Rohit Sharma is the most probable choice alongside Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. But when we look at the RCB team, there will be some lack of leadership after Virat Kohli steps down. They certainly need good captain material in an upcoming IPL mega auction.

Virat Kohli is just leaving the captaincy of RCB, he wants to play for them till his last IPL game. “I have made it clear to the management that I can’t think of being in any other team than RCB and that has been my commitment from day one, I will continue to be an RCB player till I play my last game in the IPL. But it’s been a great journey of nine years of joy, frustration, moments of happiness, ss and sadness, and I just want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me and believing in me relentlessly and unconditionally”. Virat Kohli said.

“I want to be able to continue to be committed to the responsibilities that I’m fulfilling and I felt I needed this space to refresh, to regroup, and be clear in how I want to move forward. And also understanding that RCB is going to go through a transitional phase with the big auction coming in next year.” Virat Kohli added.

“I will continue to be committed to playing for this franchise as I said till the last day of me playing IPL… for you guys, for the fans, because of what you’ve done for me and how you’ve made me feel over the last so many years that is going to stay with me for the rest of my life.” Virat Kohli shows his dedication to his franchise.

Captain Virat Kohli believes that his fans will keep supporting him in his decision.

So thank you so much, this is just a little halt, it’s not the end of the journey. The journey will continue and it will continue the same way that it has for so many years. Thank you.
